Some Kindle books can be loaned to another reader for a period of 14 days. Titles that are eligible for lending will have a message on the produce detail page "Lending: Enabled." Books can only be loaned once, and periodicals and other content are not currently available for lending. You can lend a book from the Manage Your Kindle page (www.amazon.com/manageyourkindle) or the book's product detail page on Amazon.com. Enter the borrower's name and e-mail address and an optional notification message. A recipient can receive a book loan even if they do not yet have a Kindle or Kindle reading application.

An e-mail notification will be sent to the address you specified. The borrower has seven days to accept the Kindle book loan. After accepting the loan, the borrower has 14 days to read the book on their Kindle or using a free Kindle reading application.
